YCC learners run for Snow Drop Appeal

Snow Drop Appeal

Level 2 & 3 Uniformed Services staff and students from YCC have raised a staggering £495 so far for the Snow Drop Appeal for Scarborough Hospital by taking part in the Scarborough 10k Run.

The appeal raises funds for a bereavement ward for the parents of still born babies. Tutor, Gary Taylor, explained: “This idea came from one of the students who wanted to help the local community. Some of the students finished with blisters on their feet, which shows how determined they were to complete the race.

“It was an amazing event and shows the level of fitness of the students with all of them finishing within the hour. The Scarborough 10K run is one of the most popular in the area and receives quite a lot of publicity from the local media and radio.

“It is expected that the total money raised for the appeal will exceed £500 – one student raised over £300 themselves.”
