Yorkshire Coast College Level 2 Engineering Apprentices were presented with their own toolkit by Unite the Union, in a ceremony to celebrate staff development and learning at Plaxton (Alexander Dennis Limited), the UK’s largest coach and bus builder.
Toolkits containing all the basic tools an apprentice would need in their day-to-day training were presented to: Ben Dunn, Grant Everett, Dan Robinson, Callum McDonald, Ryan Legge and Jordan McNab by Union Industrial Officer Richard Bedford during National Apprenticeship Week 2015.
Andy Cullen, Union Learning Organiser for Unite the Union said: “We always support roads to develop education where ever we can in work places and apprenticeships are no exception. For me apprenticeships are the future of manufacturing and engineering.”
Engineering Curriculum Manager for Yorkshire Coast College, Gary Simm said: “Over a number of years ADL/Plaxton and Yorkshire Coast College have built a strong professional relationship through Apprenticeship Training. ADL/Plaxton and YCC have together, worked hard to recruit only the best apprentices to meet the needs of the business.
“When visiting ADL/Plaxton, it is with great pride that I look around and see many successful apprentices from over the years, become a pivotal part of the company.”
