Uniformed Public Services learners from the Grimsby Institute and & Lincolnshire Regional College joined forces to take advantage of the recent good weather when they took part in a reward day.
Tutors; Sandy Walster, Bob Wells & Roy Munson started the reward day’s outdoor educational activities at Brandy Wharf, by dividing the learners into three teams for a 6k log run, alongside the river Ancholme, to the famous Hibaldstow Bridge.
The learners also took part in a variety of team building activities including; balancing, exercise and an improvised stretcher race before facing the bridge traverse. Bob Wells said: “The crossing proved a little too much for a few who let their apprehension and phobias get the better of them, others conquered their fears with tutor encouragement.
“The final exercise was the much-loved river crossing; which proved especially welcome on the warmest day of the year so far. The majority of learners loved the experience and the conversation on the way back was vibrant.”
