Travel and Tourism welcomes Norwegian Airlines Cabin Crew

A member of Cabin Crew from Norwegian Airlines has been talking to Level 3 Travel and Tourism learners at the Grimsby Institute all about what it’s like spending his life travelling the world and working in the skies.

Twenty-year-old Sam Cooper was invited to meet learners by Curriculum Leader for Travel and Tourism, Beverley Watson, as Beverley explained: “I invited Sam to speak to the learners about how he got recruited into the industry, what his day-to-day schedule is like and how he has dealt with emergencies.”

Sam added: “There’s only so much you can learn from a text book and you can’t expect someone who hasn’t done the job before to tell it exactly how it is. I’ve told the learners about my life as Cabin Crew, the rostering system and all about the training course that I had to go through.”

Seventeen-year-old Xena Chowler, who is currently studying for a Level 3 qualification in Travel and Tourism, said: “It’s good to find out what it’s really like instead of being taught by someone who has never had any experience of it.”
