Congratulations to Grimsby Institute VRQ Level 2 Professional Cookery learner, Thomas Peace, who recently won the District Final of the Rotary Club’s Young Chef of the Year Competition, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Cleethorpes.
Seventeen-year-old Tom, who also recently made it through to the Regional Final of the Nestlé Toque D’or, will now compete at Halifax in March for a place in the National Final.
For the Regional Final of the Rotary Young Chef of the Year Competition Tom impressed the judges with a menu including; scallops, chicken ballotine and apple panna cotta. Thomas said:
“My menu had to be healthy eating and under £15. My tutor put me forward to the competition and I was keen to do it because it sets you apart from other people.”
