Sue Middlehurst prepares to get locked up for charity

Principal & Chief Executive of the Grimsby Institute Group, Sue Middlehurst, is preparing to spend a day in the cells as she takes part in St Andrew’s Hospice’s Jail & Bail event on Saturday 7th February.

St Andrew’s Hospice was chosen by the Principal as her charity when she joined the Group in 2011 and throughout the year staff and learners take part in numerous events and fundraisers to raise money for the worthwhile cause.

Jail & Bail will see high profile members of the community ‘locked up’ in a specially created prison cell in Freshney Place. The jailbirds then have to raise as much money as possible to secure their release, however people can always donate more to keep the prisoner locked away for even longer.

Sue said: “St Andrew’s Hospice is a very important charity for everyone at the Grimsby Institute and I am delighted to be able to offer my support to their Jail & Bail fundraising event.

“It’s important that everyone gets behind events like this and I hope that our staff and learners will come along to Freshney Place in February and make a donation – whether that’s to free me from the cell or to keep me in there even longer!”

Sue’s fate is in your hands. To donate now simply go to and help to decide just how long Sue is kept behind bars.
