Yorkshire Coast College student Jack previously won the District final of the competition in March, and has now claimed first place at the Regional final of the Rotary Young Chef of 2016.
Held at the Maltings, a Further Education College in Halifax, the competition was another chance for Jack to impress judges with his 3 course meal created on a budget of £15 with the aim of being healthy; taking on advice given by judges in previous rounds.
The VRQ Level 2 Professional Cookery learner will attend the National Final at Lincoln College on 16th April and Yorkshire Coast College are incredibly proud of his achievement so far.
Seventeen year old Jack eventually wants to be a head chef and see his menu in a restaurant. About his success he says “I am really pleased. Outside of the kitchen I’m useless but in the kitchen it’s completely different!”
