Sam Whitaker announced as new Vice Principal for Strategic Projects

The Grimsby Institute Group is delighted to announce that the former CEO of Esteem, the partnership responsible for delivering Hull’s £400million Building Schools for the Future (BSF) Programme, Sam Whitaker, has been appointed as the new Vice Principal for Strategic Projects.

Sam’s role will see him leading on the maximisation of current and future business opportunities and overseeing the Group’s strategic projects including the new Environmental Learning Logistics Hub, the Green Renewable Environment and Associated Technologies (GREAT) project and The Academy Grimsby, which has opened it’s doors to 14-16 year olds and offers an alternative route for young people seeking a career in Engineering or Care.

Sam has spent the majority of his career working in the education sector on a variety of programmes and Public Private Partnerships that have seen him taking responsibility for over 100 Schools; delivering 23 new and refurbished schools over a four year period as the CEO of Esteem.

Sam explained: “My main focus has always been to ensure that myself, my team and the organisations I’ve represented have got involved in the real issues that drive change and transformation in local communities such as creating training and employment opportunities, the community use of facilities, improving employability skills in young people and supporting schools in delivering the best teaching and learning offer for their learners.”
