Motor Vehicle learners rewarded for excellence in training

Three Motor Vehicle learners at the Grimsby Institute have received special prizes, donated by Halfords, for showing commitment over the past year to their course.

IMI Level 1 Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance learners; Ethan Smith, Zeina Besson and Jake Bartlett all received a socket set, which was presented by Jon Riggs, Course Tutor for Level 1 Motor Vehicle. Jon said:  “These three learners have all won a Learner of the Year Award for their excellent attendance, behaviour and attitude throughout the course.”

17-year-old Ethan said: “The tutors have really helped me to understand more about cars. I’d preferably like to run my own garage one day.”

27-year-old Zeina returned to the Institute after enjoying training here ten years ago. Zeina said: “I enjoy studying at the Institute because the tutors are all lovely and the other learners are all a scream and it’s a brilliant place to be. I hope to now become a Lecturer or a Motor Vehicle Mechanic.”

18-year-old Jake Bartlett, who is now planning to progress to Level 2 Mechanical Engineering, added: “I really enjoy coming to the Institute because I’m highly enthusiastic about cars and have been since I was young. It’s the perfect opportunity to learn more about the trade. It’s broadened my horizons to the industry and opened more doors.”
