It was a double celebration for 21-year-old, Grimsby Institute learner Suzannah Peart, when she received her GCSE English language result and CACHE Level 3 Childcare results.
Suzannah who works at a local childcare centre, has attempted her GCSE English four times and was thrilled to learn she had gained a grade 9 in her English language exam which is equivalent to an A**, putting her in the top 3% in the country and an A* in her CACHE Level 3 Childcare qualification.
Suzannah failed her GCSE at school and after leaving school was diagnosed with dyslexia, she said: “If I failed this time, I wasn’t going to going to do it again, I was going to give up. My tutors at the Institute were very supportive, Pam and Amy guided me through and it definitely made the difference.
“I struggled with my dyslexia and did my exam on coloured paper, I’ve never had support like this before.”
Fiona Craig, Grimsby Institute Programme Leader in Early Years was delighted to learn of Suzannah’s success, she said: “The Early Years team are extremely proud of Suzannah. She has always shown great commitment and determination towards all her studies. Suzannah has been a very supportive member of her year group and will be an asset to the Early Years Sector.”
