Institute Learners and staff took part in the Health and Wellbeing Family Fun Charity Day, which was held at the Grimsby Institute and organised by engineering company Cofeley Fabricom GDF SUEZ, to raise money for St Andrew’s Hospice, the Alzheimer’s Society and the RNLI.
Learners from the Grimsby Institute’s Football Academy Team won the seven-a-side football tournament, with the Institute’s over 40s team coming 2nd place in the Over 40s Team Based Distance Challenge which included rowing, running and cycling the distance of a marathon.
Sue Middlehurst, Grimsby Institute Principal and Chief Executive said: “We are delighted that Cofely Fabricom GDF SUEZ has chosen to hold its charity event at our Nuns’ corner Campus.
“The company is such an important part of our community and it is a fantastic fundraiser. Many of our staff were keen to get involved and I was pleased to see our Academy team win first place in the football competition, the Institute’s over-40s team came second and the teams who took part in It’s a Knockout all doing well. It’s been a very successful day raising money for extremely worthy causes.”
