Ever dreamed of studying abroad? If you choose Level 3 Art and Media at the Grimsby Institute, you’ll get the opportunity to travel, stay and learn in Malta or Germany – fully funded.
These courses, which start in September and still have places available, give learners the chance to head to Europe with travel, accommodation and food all paid. Part of Erasmus, the European Union student exchange programme, there are two colleges to choose from and the Institute is the only college to offer this in the region.
First is the Malta College of Arts Science and Technology (MCAST), where learners will both study and take part in live projects, and the other option is Europa College in Bonn, which will include work experience. Both of these trips will count as part of the course at the Institute.
This is an ambitious plan from the team in place and Associate Principal, Emma Forrest-Leigh hopes the Institute will be in a position to roll it out across a number of courses within the next four years. She said:
We’ve got the ball rolling on doing similarly things for engineering and catering, and already we have had 12 staff go out and explore potential exchanges and looking for work placements.
At the Institute, we make an effort to ensure learners get real life experience by working on a number of assignments. In both our Art and Media courses, we push practical work to train our learners so they have the chance to pursue careers in things like TV & film or 2D & 3D visual arts.
