Foundations celebrate The Queen’s Birthday with royal icing

Foundations learners at the Grimsby Institute held a special cake competition to celebrate The Queen’s 90th Birthday, coming up with a selection of cakes that showed off their creativity with some colourful decorating techniques.

Learners from Entry 3 and Level 1 Hospitality programmes researched, designed and planned their cakes carefully. The competition was judged by Grimsby Institute’s Programme Leader for Professional Cookery, Paul Robinson.

1st place was awarded to Kirk Wright, with Tyler Storr and Martin Toyn, winning 2nd and 3rd Place respectively.
