Staff from the Grimsby Institute’s Girls’ and Boys’ Football Academies are holding a fundraising event in the University Centre Grimsby’s Corner Lounge on Friday 27th March from 7.30pm-1pm, sponsored by Infiniti Centre Hull; a luxury vehicle division of Nissan, to raise money for the Academies five-day enrichment visit to Oliva Nova in Spain.
The fundraising event has been organised by the Football Academies Head Coaches, Gary Childs and John McDermott, and will include a disco, a tribute act performing hits by Pink and Jessie J and the chance to win the use of an Infiniti car for the weekend – one of the many prizes on offer in a charity raffle.
John McDermott, Head Coach of the Academies, said: “This trip will prove a very important part of the Academy members learning experience. Throughout the visit we will be training on a Champions League training facility, there will be a fixture on the pitch and then a tour of Valencia Stadium. This will be the first time that some of these learners have been outside the UK.”
Gary Childs added: “We decided to hold a fundraiser to help contribute to the learners costs and help subsidise what the learners and their families will have to pay. This promises to be a lifetime experience for them.”
Stephen Smith, Director of Infiniti Centre Hull, added: “We are supporting this fundraising event because we recognise the importance the Football Academies play at the Grimsby Institute, not only in encouraging the professionals of tomorrow but also in providing opportunities for young people that they otherwise may not get.”
Tickets for the fundraiser are £8 each and the event is for over 18s only. For more information, or if you are interested in booking tickets for what promises to be a fantastic evening, please contact the Grimsby Institute’s Main Reception on (01472) 311222 ext: 216.
