Business Success for Former Yorkshire Coast College Apprentice

Lewis Wilkinson, a former Yorkshire Coast College student has gone on to open his own business in Scarborough. Lewis completed his Motor Vehicle Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship in summer 2014 and went on to do his Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in summer 2015. Lewis worked with two firms during his Apprenticeship, CST and Fairbank & Craven.

Lewis said: ‘The Apprenticeship programme equipped me well for setting up my own business. I feel the programme provided me with the knowledge and skills to cover a wide task range, from reception duties to engine management diagnosis. I am hoping to take on my own Apprentice in the New Year.’

Andy McLellan, Assessor for Motor Vehicle at Yorkshire Coast College went on to say:  ‘Lewis has worked really hard and achieved excellent results in his VRQ exams and Functional Skills programmes. It’s great to see our Apprentices making the next step and going in to business. We wish Lewis all the best for the future.’
