‘The Yorkshire 5’ to do the Cleveland Way Walk in aid of Help for Heroes

Three Yorkshire Coast College students are doing the Cleveland Way Walk from Filey to Saltburn in aid of Help for Heroes. The walk will take place over the course of a week from 13th-21st March. Brett O’Donnell, Adam Thompson and John Collier-Woods are all Level 2 Electrical students and keen walking enthusiasts.

Brett O’Donnell who completed Uniformed Services Level 2 and 3 before going on to study Electrical Installation is leading the group. Brett said: ‘I am a member of the Army Cadets in my spare time and love taking part in expeditions. As a group we have named ourselves ‘The Yorkshire 5’ given that when we originally thought of the idea there were 5 of us, unfortunately 2 have had to drop out. The remainder of us are all from Yorkshire and also studying at Yorkshire Coast College. We are all looking forward to camping out the most as I imagine we will experience challenging weather conditions. As a group we have set a realistic target amount of £250 but we would love to exceed this as we believe Help for Heroes is a very good cause.’

Gary Taylor Programme Leader for Uniformed Services said: ‘Brett worked extremely hard and was a popular student on the Uniformed Services Course. He enjoyed organising charity fund raising events and these always proved very successful. He always looked to do something that involved a challenge and it is no surprise to me that he is encouraging others to take part. Good luck to ‘The Yorkshire 5’
